RIP, June Fairchild.

June Fairchild

June Fairchild
September 3, 1946 – February 17, 2015

June Fairchild started out as a go-go dancer on the Hollywood A Go Go show and made her way into movies: Head (1968), Pretty Maids All In A Row (1971), Drive, He Said (1971), Thunderbolt And Lightfoot (1975, above) and others. Thunderbolt is a sadly overlooked Clint Eastwood picture (Jeff Bridges received an Oscar nomination for it), and June’s terrific in it.

Drugs and alcohol put June on L.A.’s skid row, but she managed to get sober with the help of friends and fans. Sadly, she passed away this week after battling liver cancer. A memorial fund has been set up to cover her final expenses.
