Merry Christmas.

It’s easy to forget that the James Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) is a Christmas movie. But here’s James Bond (George Lazenby) hanging around the Christmas tree with Blofeld’s brainwashed “Angels Of Death.”

Here’s wishing you all the joys of the season — and that you get that 1969 Aston Martin DBS you asked for.

To Toby,Walter and all the H8 Crew indeed Merry Christmas and a
    Happy 2020.

Let’s see what 2020 brings in the way of great Blu Ray releases.
Lots of Horror/Sci already announced including DAY THE WORLD ENDED
which Walter and myself discussed over at Margot’s blog recently-great
to finally have in high def.
BTW Margot’s a Noir Dame with a newly found interest in Atomic Age
Sci Fi-you really cannot go wrong with DAY THE WORLD ENDED and

Rather bemused/ intrigued to see so much interest these days in vintage
British films.,One that seems to have escaped the H8 radar is Joseph
Losey’s superb THE CRIMINAL with the great Stanley Baker.
I’ve seen the new 4K restoration and it’s a stunner.
Made for peanuts,a mere £60,000 this film punches way above it’s weight.
The opening 20 minutes are the most stunning in all of British cinema
where the inmates take revenge on a “squealer” (Kenneth Cope)
The extended scene builds to a fever pitch where we feel that we are
encountering scenes from Bedlam, not HMP Wandsworth.
    Highly recommended.
THE CRIMINAL is on the way from Kino Lorber who are on a bit of a
Brit Flick Bonanza at the moment,.
